Willow tree or mineral mist?

Ok, how difficult can it be to choose a new bedroom colour? Surely anything has got to look better than the disgusting wallpaper carry-on that was there before? This has been the worst room in the house. Ok, maybe not. Maybe the red living room, with the hideous wallpaper and red patterned carpet were worse. Or perhaps the puke patterned carpet that is still up the stairs and landing are worse. Either way, this bedroom has been something I've disliked from the moment we moved in, two years ago. Why do people cover lovely new houses with wallpaper? It took me hours to peel it all off. They also painted the ceiling in this room a glossy magnolia colour, instead of brilliant white. So now it's all stripped and bare, but what colour shall I paint it? I'm stuck between two colours, this one (willow tree) or this one (mineral mist). Willow tree is my all time favourite colour. It's a green that we used in the kitchen of our old house. The reason I'm stuck is because we are also going to decorate the hall and landing. Now, I can't decide which one to do willow tree green and which one to do mineral mist blue. Ah, the dilemma. I want the bedroom to be a calm peaceful place, no bright colours, no gowdy patterns, just peace and relaxation. And I want the hallway to be welcoming, but also peaceful, and to give the feel of 'us' as a family. The colours I go for tend to be pale greens, calming colours (like our living room, for instance). Ah well, ho hum, better sleep on it I think.

Edit - I just took the dulux colour chemistry test to see what colour my personality is and this is what it said...
Peace Maker
Friendly and considerate your first concern is always to make other people feel at ease, and never more so than when you are at home. Like the mediator that you are, you choose quiet and soothing colours to create a peaceful and serene atmosphere. You’re naturally drawn to gentle & ethereal textures, so pulling together voiles & silks with calm wall colours such as blues & greens will complete your sanctuary.

I think you should go for mineral mist in the bedroom cos it's calming and willow tree for the hall because it's slightly warmer so will give you that welcoming tone you want. That's what I think.

Oh, you should have borrowed my wallpaper stripper. It's so much easier than doing by hand. My entire house is wallpapered, except the living room which is the only one I've redecorated so far!

Ah, now you tell me. I'll remember that if I ever get round to decorating the study room or the utility room. They are the only ones with wallpaper left on them. Our house was decorated rather nastily when we moved in. First we had to decorate Judes room as it was used as a smoking room and the stench of smoke in the hideous red elephant wallpaper was overpowering. Then we did the living room, which was red and nasty, and cold. Then a quick splash of paint in the cold bathroom, although I dont like the new lemon colour much more than the old colour. Finally we got rid of the mustard yellow gloss in the kitchen. And of course we changed the downstairs office into Lukes new blue bedroom. And Jenny & Steve painted the new office light blue upstairs. Once we finally get the bedroom and hallway painted it will feel much more like home. I agreed to buy this house on the condition that the carpet on the stairs and landing would be removed immediately. Two years later and it's still there. HO hum.

Hey I did that test. I am a Comfort Creator apparently:

Generous and affectionate, you are never happier that when you are spoiling yourself and others. You want your home to be as welcoming as you are, a cosy and comforting space enlivened with splashes of cheerful, bright colour. Autumnal gold and roasted reds add a note of sumptuous warmth and are the perfect colours to curl up in whatever the season. Gilded picture frames and hand finished accessories like door handles can make the difference between a welcoming space and an exceptional room.

Does it sound like me?

PS What's wrong with wallpaper?! You'll probably hate my house once I ever have one of my own.

This is me apparantly!

Sunny and gregarious you have the confidence that comes from not being afraid to be yourself. You are always up to date with trends and fashion. Just like your wardrobe, you see your home as the perfect canvas to express your personality and sense of style. But changing the look of a room doesn’t require major investment. Painting just one wall, and adding some new accessories can completely change the feel of a space.

So what have you decided on the colors for your room? I can't wait to get into a house of our own, and do some decorating!

Oh Tammy, I'm just about to post the photos of the new room.

Hannah, yes it sounds like you, although I havent ever seen you decorate a room so Im not sure what colours you would choose. Um, you'll discover whats wrong with wallpaper when you move into a house thats covered in it, it various hideous patterns and colours. You'll learn to hate it then.

I personally like the looks of both of them. Any way you could combine the 2 colors?
